Jordan Crown Prince orders nationwide digital integration for hospitals and clinics

Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Regent of Jordan, directed the expansion of digital integration between the Kingdom’s hospitals and the Jordan Digital Health Centre (EHS) during a meeting on Thursday, 30 July. The directive aims to centralise medical data and streamline healthcare delivery through the Hakeem programme, Jordan’s national initiative for electronic health records. Expanding Digital Health Infrastructure Presiding over a session of the National Council for Future Technology, the Crown Prince specified that all public and private health centres must prioritise full data synchronisation with the central hub. The Jordan Digital Health Centre, also known as Electronic Health Solutions (EHS), currently manages the Hakeem programme, which automated 196 health facilities including major Ministry of Health and Royal Medical Services hospitals. According to the Council, the expansion targets the elimination of bureaucratic delays and the reduction of redundant diagnostic procedures. The move follows recent performance reports showing that digitised facilities have seen a measurable decrease in medication waste and patient waiting times. The Crown Prince instructed the Council to accelerate the adoption of telehealth services and artificial intelligence diagnostics to support physicians in remote governorates.
