Major Indian carriers IndiGo and Air India issued urgent travel advisories on Monday as heavy monsoon rainfall triggered widespread disruptions at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). The weather conditions forced multiple flight cancellations and diversions, impacting thousands of passengers on domestic and international routes. Airline Waivers and Rescheduling Air India announced a one-time waiver on rescheduling fees and full refunds for passengers holding confirmed tickets for flights on July 8, 2024. The airline confirmed that the move applies to travelers who choose not to fly due to the inclement weather or whose flights were canceled. IndiGo also utilized social media platforms to warn passengers of slowed operations, advising travelers to check flight statuses through official channels before departing for the airport.
