The Abu Dhabi-based media conglomerate IMI has ended its 12-year joint venture with Sky Group, taking total ownership of the 24-hour news outlet.
International Media Investments (IMI) has acquired full ownership of Sky News Arabia, ending its long-standing 50-50 joint venture with the UK-based Sky Group. The Abu Dhabi-headquartered investment firm, which also owns The National and Al-Ain News, took total control of the 24-hour news channel following a twelve-year partnership. Shift in Ownership Structure The transaction concludes the joint venture established in 2012 between IMI and Sky UK. While the financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed, the move places the management and editorial direction of the channel entirely under the UAE-based conglomerate. Sky News Arabia operates from Abu Dhabi with a global network of bureaus across the Middle East, North Africa, and major international capitals.
