The UAE Ministry of Defence announced on Wednesday, 19 August, that its air defence systems detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran toward the country on 18 August. The ministry confirmed that the first missile fell outside the UAE’s territorial waters, while the second landed within the country’s territorial waters. Defence Readiness and Security In a formal statement issued following the detection, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that military units are on high alert. The ministry stated it remains fully prepared to deal with any threats and will firmly confront actions aimed at undermining the security of the state, ensuring the preservation of national sovereignty and the protection of national capabilities.
