GEMS Education inducts 1,550 new teachers for the 2026/27 academic year, bringing its total faculty to over 10,000 members.
GEMS Education added 1,550 new teachers to its regional network on Wednesday, 26 August, ahead of the 2026/27 academic year. The induction of the new cohort brings the total number of educators across the group’s schools to more than 10,000. The recruitment drive concludes a global search that saw GEMS receive more than 500,000 job applications this year. The incoming staff represent more than 112 nationalities, joining the private education provider as it prepares for the new term starting next week. Teacher Induction and Global Recruitment The new staff members were officially welcomed at GEMS Awareness Day 2026, an annual gathering of incoming teachers, school leaders, and advisors. The event focused on the theme "Family First," which the group identified as a core pillar for the upcoming academic session. The new educators were briefed on the organisation’s focus on integrating technology and strengthening parent-school relationships. Sunny Varkey, Founder and Chairman of GEMS Education, stated that the group is investing in educators from around the world to ensure they are equipped with the tools and environment necessary to deliver high academic standards. The large volume of applications received annually indicates the continued demand for international teaching roles within the UAE’s private education sector.
