Glendale Community College Students Secure $55,000 Jack Kent Cooke Scholarships

Two Glendale Community College students won the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship, securing up to $165,000 each for university studies.

Glendale Community College (GCC) students Armen Khanbabaians and Arshak Mkrtchyan have been named recipients of the 2024 Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. The award provides each student with up to $55,000 per year for up to three years to complete their bachelor’s degrees at leading four-year universities. Competitive Selection Process The scholarship is one of the most prestigious academic awards in the United States, targeting high-achieving community college students with financial need. Khanbabaians and Mkrtchyan were selected from a national pool of more than 1,600 applicants representing 380 community colleges across the country. Only 60 students nationwide were granted the scholarship this year. Academic Support and University Transition In addition to the annual financial grant, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation provides recipients with comprehensive academic advising and access to a network of fellow scholars.
