GCC Unified Tourist Visa Moves Toward Full Implementation for 2024 Launch

The "GCC Grand Tours" permit will allow travelers to visit all six member states under a single entry system.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is finalizing the rollout of its unified tourist visa, titled "GCC Grand Tours." The permit will enable international visitors to travel between the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain using a single entry document. Approved by the region’s interior ministers during their 40th meeting in Muscat, the initiative functions similarly to the European Schengen model. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, previously confirmed that the visa is designed for tourists intending to stay in the region for more than 30 days. Technical Integration and Implementation The six member states are currently synchronizing digital immigration systems. This integration allows for real-time data sharing between respective ministries of interior, ensuring security protocols are met while facilitating cross-border movement. The technical infrastructure is scheduled for completion between late 2024 and early 2025.
