Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are undergoing a structural shift, moving away from a primary focus on workforce scale toward delivering measurable business outcomes. Rajeev Kapoor, Country Head of Curriculum Associates India, stated that the next phase of GCC evolution will be defined by technical value and strategic impact rather than the volume of headcount. Shift Toward Value-Driven Operations The transition marks a departure from the traditional cost-arbitrage model, where international firms established offshore centers primarily to reduce labor expenses. In the current landscape, GCCs are increasingly integrated into the core strategy of parent organizations, handling high-complexity functions including artificial intelligence development, data analytics, and proprietary product engineering.
