More than 50,000 visitors attended the 'Emirates Loves Palestine' festival at Expo City Dubai, celebrating heritage and local success stories.
More than 50,000 visitors gathered at Expo City Dubai on Saturday, 29 August, to attend the inaugural "Emirates Loves Palestine" event, a large-scale cultural showcase celebrating Palestinian heritage and professional success stories within the UAE. Solidarity and Cultural Exchange Abeer Al Ramahi, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the UAE, told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the gathering serves as a message of solidarity from the Emirates to the Palestinian people. The ambassador noted that the event provides a platform to acknowledge the opportunities the UAE has provided for Palestinian professionals to thrive and contribute to the local economy. Hamood Al Afari, Director of UAE Relief Operations, attended the event, stating that the high turnout reflects the ties between the two populations. The festival included traditional markets, theatrical performances, and art exhibitions, designed to recreate a Palestinian cultural atmosphere in Dubai. Community Impact and Professional Success Zahr Al Najjar, manager of the "Emirates Loves Palestine" digital community platform, confirmed this was the first event of its kind for the organization.
