Etihad Rail opens Dubai-Abu Dhabi passenger bookings for September 30 launch

Etihad Rail has resumed ticket sales for its inaugural Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi passenger service, which is scheduled to commence operations on Wednesday, 30 September. The launch marks the official opening of the national rail network to commuters, connecting Dubai’s Al Yalayis Station in Jumeirah Golf Estates with Abu Dhabi’s Mohammed Bin Zayed City Station. Fares and Class Options According to the Etihad Rail booking platform, one-way fares for the 57-minute journey start at Dh39 for Comfort Class and Dh109 for Premium Class. Passengers can choose from three ticket tiers: Saver, Value, and Flex. While Saver tickets are non-refundable and do not include seat selection, the Flex option allows for cancellations and full seat choice. Premium Class passengers receive wider reclining seats, additional legroom, and complimentary refreshments. Daily Timings and Frequency The operator confirmed five daily services in each direction starting on 30 September. From Dubai, trains depart at 6.14am, 7.14am, 1.14pm, 5.14pm, and 6.14pm. Return journeys from Abu Dhabi are scheduled for 6.43am, 7.43am, 12.43pm, 4.43pm, and 5.43pm. A direct Dubai-to-Fujairah service is also listed for 30 September, departing at 1.57pm with a travel time of approximately 70 minutes.
