Etihad Rail launched its first Dubai-Abu Dhabi passenger service on Wednesday, offering commuters a 64-minute journey and integrated transport links.
Etihad Rail launched its inaugural public passenger service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, 30 September, with the first train departing at 6:14 AM. The service connects Al Yalayis Station in Dubai’s Jumeirah Golf Estates to Mohammed Bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi, reducing travel time to approximately 64 minutes. Ticket pricing and booking strategies Passengers can secure significant savings by booking tickets through the official Etihad Rail website or mobile app rather than using station vending machines. A standard Comfort Class ticket costs Dh39 when purchased online, compared to Dh60 at the station—a Dh21 price difference. Fares are structured into Saver, Value, and Flex categories, with prices also fluctuating based on peak travel times. For instance, a morning departure from Abu Dhabi to Dubai at 6:43 AM is priced at Dh39, while a 4:43 PM service costs Dh49.
