Etihad Rail has introduced a comprehensive schedule of administrative fines reaching up to Dh10,000 to regulate passenger behavior and protect infrastructure across the UAE national rail network. The new regulations establish clear penalties for safety violations, fare evasion, and damage to rail property. The highest penalty of Dh10,000 applies to two specific violations: carrying hazardous or flammable materials and the unauthorized or improper use of emergency systems or equipment. This includes the activation of emergency brakes or alarms without a valid safety reason. These measures are designed to prevent operational disruptions and ensure the safety of all commuters. Infrastructure and Safety Penalties Passengers who obstruct the movement of rail personnel or damage the network’s infrastructure will face a fine of Dh5,000. For violations involving public health and safety, such as smoking within trains or station premises, the fine is set at Dh1,000. Additionally, carrying weapons or sharp tools on board will result in a Dh1,000 penalty and the immediate confiscation of the items.
