Etihad Rail has announced a new fare structure for its upcoming passenger services, introducing a 50% discount for children and a 20% discount for senior citizens. The move establishes the pricing framework for the UAE’s national railway network as it transitions toward full passenger operations. Tiered Pricing and Accessibility The discount policy targets key demographic groups to encourage the use of rail transport across the federation. While standard fare tables are yet to be fully released, the confirmed reductions for children and seniors indicate a strategy focused on family travel and inclusive mobility. These incentives are part of a broader effort to shift commuters from private vehicles to the 1,200-kilometre rail network. Infrastructure and Route Connectivity The Etihad Rail passenger network will connect 11 cities and regions, spanning from Sila in the west to Fujairah on the east coast. Passenger trains are engineered to operate at speeds of up to 200 kilometres per hour, capable of carrying approximately 400 passengers per trip.
