Etihad Airways and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) have introduced free medical travel insurance for all international visitors entering the emirate. The policy provides comprehensive coverage for emergency medical expenses to enhance traveler safety and reduce individual entry costs. Automated Coverage for Travelers The insurance is automatically integrated into the flight booking process for passengers traveling with Etihad Airways. Visitors arriving via other carriers are also eligible for the coverage, provided their visas were issued through Abu Dhabi. The policy covers emergency inpatient and outpatient treatments, ensuring that unexpected health issues do not result in financial liabilities for tourists. The insurance remains valid for the duration of the visitor’s stay, typically ranging from 15 to 30 days depending on the visa category and date of entry.
