Etihad Airways, TAROM Launch Codeshare Ahead of Abu Dhabi-Bucharest Route

Etihad Airways and Romania’s national carrier partner to expand flight options ahead of the new direct Abu Dhabi-Bucharest route in 2025.
Etihad Airways and TAROM, the national carrier of Romania, have launched a codeshare agreement to expand connectivity between Abu Dhabi and Bucharest. The partnership comes as the UAE national airline prepares to begin direct flight operations to the Romanian capital in 2025. Expanded Network Connectivity Under the terms of the agreement, TAROM will place its ‘RO’ code on Etihad’s scheduled flights between Abu Dhabi and Bucharest, as well as on connecting routes across Etihad’s global network. In return, Etihad will add its ‘EY’ code to TAROM’s domestic services within Romania and its regional European flights. The arrangement allows passengers to book single-ticket journeys with streamlined baggage transfers and coordinated schedules. The codeshare is designed to support traffic on Etihad’s upcoming direct route between Zayed International Airport (AUH) and Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP). This service is scheduled to commence in July 2025, operating twice weekly using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
