Environment Agency Abu Dhabi and IUCN formalize a partnership to implement global conservation standards and protect endangered species.

The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) has signed a framework partnership agreement with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to strengthen collaboration on environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. The agreement follows directives from Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the EAD Board of Directors. Strategic Alignment on Biodiversity The partnership establishes a formal structure for the EAD and IUCN to implement regional and global conservation initiatives. Key focus areas include the protection of endangered species, habitat restoration, and the promotion of sustainable development practices. By aligning with IUCN’s global standards, the EAD aims to enhance the effectiveness of its local environmental policies and field operations. Under the terms of the framework, both entities will share technical expertise and scientific data.
