These operations allow the Dubai-based carrier to fly between two foreign countries as part of a service originating or ending in the UAE, providing critical revenue streams independent of its primary hub. Strategic Capacity Management The airline currently operates several high-profile fifth-freedom routes, including Athens to Newark and Milan to New York JFK. By utilizing these rights, Emirates maintains high aircraft utilization rates for its Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 fleets while navigating the physical limitations of DXB.
