Egypt demands full Israeli withdrawal and Gaza aid access in US talks

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty demanded a total Israeli military withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the establishment of consistent humanitarian corridors during a high-level diplomatic call on Monday, 10 August. The demand was issued to Nikolay Mladenov, Director-General of the Board of Peace under U.S. President Donald Trump, as Cairo seeks to accelerate the implementation of the Gaza roadmap. Demands for full withdrawal According to reports from the Anadolu news agency, Abdelatty insisted that all provisions of the established Gaza peace roadmap must be executed without exception. Central to the Egyptian position is the complete exit of Israeli forces from the Palestinian enclave, which Cairo views as a prerequisite for any long-term stability in the region. The foreign minister also emphasized the critical need for sustained, unimpeded access for humanitarian aid. Egypt has repeatedly warned that the current levels of supplies entering the territory are insufficient to address the deepening crisis affecting Gaza’s civilian population.
