Egypt and Fujairah accelerate Mediterranean oil and gas hub project

Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Fujairah Emiri Diwan, met on Monday, 31 August, to expedite the implementation of the Fujairah Alamein Oil and Gas project. The high-level meeting, held at the Egyptian government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, followed the formal establishment of the joint venture company and its founding general assembly. Strategic Energy Hub at El-Hamra Port The project focuses on developing the El-Hamra Petroleum Port in New Alamein, transforming it into a strategic hub for crude oil storage and petroleum product trading. According to official statements from the meeting, the project will leverage the infrastructure of the Western Desert Operating Petroleum Company (WEPCO) to replicate the global logistics model currently operating in Fujairah. A critical component of the plan involves the creation of a private free zone in New Alamein under the name Fujairah Alamein Oil and Gas.
