EFG Hermes launches digital DFM onboarding to streamline investor access

EFG Hermes and DFM launch a fully digital onboarding service to streamline investor access as market capitalization nears Dh1 trillion.

Investors can now access the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) through a fully automated digital process, removing the requirement for physical branch visits or paper-based documentation. EFG Hermes UAE LLC launched the integrated service on Sunday, 27 September, allowing users to obtain a DFM investor number (NIN) and open trading accounts directly via the EFG Hermes ONE mobile application. Automated Account Opening The new digital onboarding system integrates directly with the exchange's infrastructure to provide end-to-end registration. According to EFG Hermes, the mobile-first approach is designed to shorten the time between an investment decision and active trading. Once the digital NIN is issued, users gain immediate access to DFM-listed securities and real-time market data. Khalifa Rabba, Chief Operating Officer of DFM, stated that the digital infrastructure expansion is a core component of the exchange's strategy to broaden market participation. The move follows a period of high activity, where DFM added 42,864 new investors during the first half of 2026. Data shows that 71.4 per cent of these new entrants were foreign nationals. Record Trading Volumes The transition to digital onboarding comes as trading volumes on the Dubai exchange reach multi-year highs. During the first six months of 2026, the total traded value hit Dh119.5 billion, marking a 40.4 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2025.
