Edge Group, the Abu Dhabi-based defense conglomerate, is accelerating its expansion into European markets to integrate its autonomous systems and smart weaponry into Western supply chains. The strategy involves direct acquisitions of established European defense firms and the establishment of regional headquarters to manage NATO-standard contracts. Strategic Acquisitions in Northern and Eastern Europe The group’s European pivot gained momentum following its 2023 acquisition of a majority stake in Milrem Robotics, an Estonian developer of robotics and autonomous systems. This move allowed Edge to gain a technical foothold within the European Union and NATO defense frameworks.
