Dubai Tourism Growth Hits 11% as DET Outlines Q1 2024 Performance

Dubai hosted 5.18 million international overnight visitors in Q1 2024, an 11% increase as the emirate targets D33 economic goals.

Dubai welcomed 5.18 million international overnight visitors between January and March 2024, representing an 11% increase compared to the 4.67 million arrivals recorded during the same period in 2023. The data was released during the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) City Briefing, where industry stakeholders gathered to review the emirate’s quarterly performance. Surge in International Arrivals The growth in visitor numbers follows a record-breaking 2023, where Dubai hosted 17.15 million international tourists. The first quarter of 2024 saw Western Europe remain the largest source market, accounting for 22% of total visitors (1.138 million). South Asia followed with 16% (815,000 arrivals), while the CIS and Eastern Europe region contributed 15% (773,000 arrivals). The GCC and MENA regions combined represented 24% of the total market share, with 660,000 and 605,000 visitors respectively. North and South-East Asia accounted for 9% of arrivals, a figure driven by the continued recovery of Chinese travel markets.
