Dubai's WETEX to host Chinese tech firms in $200bn bilateral trade push

More than 130 Chinese companies will participate in the 28th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) in Dubai next month, as the UAE and China move to expand bilateral trade to $200 billion by 2030. The announcement, made on Tuesday, 1 September, confirms that the Chinese pavilion will be a central feature of the event held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 20 to 22 October, 2026. Focus on Renewable Energy and Water Security Organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the exhibition serves as a platform for Chinese firms to showcase innovations in clean energy, energy storage, and smart city infrastructure. Participating entities include Focus Technology Co., Ltd., which will demonstrate digital trade solutions, and Vontron Technology Co., Ltd., focusing on advanced membrane technologies for desalination and wastewater treatment.
