Dubai RTA to Construct Seven New Pedestrian Bridges Across Major Highways

Dubai's RTA awards a contract for 7 pedestrian bridges, including a 500-meter crossing on Sheikh Rashid Road.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a contract for the construction of seven new pedestrian bridges across the emirate. The project includes the development of a 500-metre structure on Sheikh Rashid Road, which will become one of the longest pedestrian crossings in the city. Largest bridge at Sheikh Rashid Road The flagship bridge on Sheikh Rashid Road will connect the Zabeel and Al Karama districts. Spanning 500 metres in length and 11 metres in width, the bridge is designed to accommodate more than 10,000 people per hour. It features dedicated lanes for pedestrians and cyclists, and is equipped with elevators and stairs to facilitate movement between the two high-density residential and commercial areas. The total length of the seven new bridges combined reaches 888 metres. These structures are distributed across several arterial roads where high traffic volumes and pedestrian activity intersect.
