DUBAI — In a decisive advancement for metropolitan mobility, urban connectivity, and traffic safety across Dubai’s central business and healthcare districts, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that construction on the strategic Oud Metha and Al Asayel Streets Development Project has reached 90 percent completion. The large-scale civil engineering undertaking is designed to integrate key arterial corridors, eliminate bottlenecks at high-density junctions, and accommodate the sustained demographic and commercial growth of surrounding communities. The project encompasses the complete reconstruction and grade-separation of four major intersections, the construction of 4,300 metres of new flyover bridges and underpass tunnels, and the widening and paving of up to 14 kilometres of surrounding roadways. Once fully commissioned, the enhanced road network will increase total vehicular capacity along the corridor by 50 percent, lifting throughput from 10,400 vehicles per hour to more than 15,600 vehicles per hour across both directions.
