The RTA closure at the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station will last until late 2026 for road improvement works.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has closed the dedicated bus and taxi lane at the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station. The closure is scheduled to remain in place until the end of 2026 to facilitate major infrastructure and road improvement works in the Downtown Dubai area. Transit Diversions and Commuter Impact The closure affects the immediate access road used by public buses and RTA taxis directly adjacent to the metro station entrance. While the metro station itself remains fully operational for rail passengers, those transitioning to road transport must now use alternative boarding locations. The RTA has redirected bus routes and taxi pick-up points to designated zones nearby, including the Dubai Mall cinema parking area and other temporary stops. Signage has been installed around the station perimeter to guide commuters toward these new transit points. Passengers are advised to allow for extra travel time when navigating the area, particularly during peak evening hours and weekends when traffic volume in the Downtown district is highest.
