Methods of data theft The General Department of Criminal Investigation stated that cybercriminals are deploying malicious software disguised as legitimate utility or government applications. Once installed, these programs can capture login credentials, credit card information, and one-time passwords (OTPs) by monitoring user activity or overlaying fake login screens on authentic banking apps.
