Dubai Police achieved a ‘Generally Conforms’ rating in an external FAA assessment, marking the highest level of compliance with global auditing standards.
The Financial Audit Authority (FAA) in Dubai released the results of an external quality assessment on Friday, 21 August, awarding the Dubai Police Internal Audit Function a rating of ‘Generally Conforms’. This rating represents the highest level of compliance under Global Internal Audit Standards. Assessment of Professional Practices The review, conducted by the FAA as part of its oversight mandate, evaluated how effectively Dubai Police aligns its internal auditing with international professional practices. The assessment focused on governance frameworks, risk management, and the maturity of oversight processes within the police headquarters. The ‘Generally Conforms’ status indicates that the entity has established charter, policies, and processes that meet the requirements of the global standard-setting bodies. Amir Ali Algergawi, Executive Director of the Corporate Support Sector at the Dubai FAA, stated that the rating confirms the maturity of audit practices at Dubai Police. He noted that the FAA provides these independent assessments to provide an objective view of institutional performance and to identify areas for continuous improvement across Dubai’s government entities.
