Motorists in Dubai face an increase in overall commuting expenses starting June 1 as new Salik toll gates and parking fee adjustments take effect across the emirate. The changes, coupled with monthly fuel price volatility, impact the total cost of vehicle ownership for residents and commercial operators. Expansion of Salik Toll Network The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed the integration of two new Salik gates located at the Business Bay Crossing and Al Safa South. These additions bring the total number of toll points in Dubai to 10. Each crossing incurs a mandatory Dh4 fee. The expansion aims to redistribute traffic volumes toward Al Khail Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, reducing pressure on Sheikh Zayed Road during peak hours. Parking Fee Adjustments and New Zones Public parking costs in high-density districts have undergone revisions as the RTA expands paid zones to manage urban congestion. Fees for public parking range from Dh2 to Dh10 per hour, depending on the zone classification and vehicle type.
