The Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA), in coordination with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has launched a major expansion of coastal transit infrastructure, establishing designated waterfront pick-up and drop-off nodes designed to elevate the emirate's maritime lifestyle ecosystem.
DUBAI — Enhancing Dubai’s reputation as one of the world’s premier maritime lifestyle capitals, the Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA) has officially inaugurated a network of next-generation waterfront pick-up and drop-off nodes. The coastal infrastructure project, delivered in strategic alignment with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), provides streamlined marine access to key residential, leisure, and resort hubs across the emirate’s coastline. The newly designated marine nodes have been strategically positioned along high-traffic luxury corridors, including Dubai Marina, Bluewaters Island, Palm Jumeirah, and the Dubai Water Canal promenade. Built with modern floating pontoon technology, these dock points accommodate a wide spectrum of marine vessels—from private charter yachts and commercial water taxis to air-conditioned heritage abras and modern electric ferries. By establishing standardized, safe, and regulated embarking points, the DMA is resolving long-standing logistical requests from private boat owners, charter operators, and hospitality brands. Residents and international visitors can now commute smoothly between luxury island resorts, Michelin-starred waterfront restaurants, and retail promenades without facing urban traffic congestion along coastal highways.
