Ninja Group partners with Sun Green Energy to offset 90% of electricity demand at its Jebel Ali cold-storage facility.

Ninja Group, a specialist in temperature-controlled logistics, has commissioned a 355kW solar power plant at its flagship facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). The project, completed in partnership with Sun Green Energy, addresses the high energy requirements of cold-storage operations by providing a stable, on-site electricity source. Energy Cost Stabilization Cold-chain logistics is one of the most energy-intensive sectors in the supply chain, requiring continuous refrigeration regardless of external temperatures. The new solar installation is engineered to offset up to 90% of the facility’s electricity demand. Ninja Group Director Lakhpat Kalwani stated on Saturday, 3 October, that the plant stabilizes long-term energy costs while ensuring cooling systems are powered by renewable sources. The facility uses high-density solar cells designed by Sun Green Energy to maximize electricity generation. The plant is expected to maintain peak output for more than 30 years, serving as a long-term operational asset for the company. The announcement comes as industrial operators in the UAE increasingly adopt renewable energy to mitigate rising utility expenses. Strategic Alignment and Capacity The project follows the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which targets sourcing 75% of the emirate’s total power capacity from clean energy. Sun Green Energy, a DEWA-registered firm established in 2016, confirmed it has now completed over 105 installations across the UAE and GCC, covering…
