The Dubai Health Authority has streamlined licensing for international specialists to practice in private facilities through the Sheryan portal.

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has updated its medical licensing framework, officially allowing international physicians to consult part-time within the emirate’s private healthcare sector. This regulatory shift enables overseas specialists to provide medical services in Dubai without relinquishing their primary practices in their home countries. Licensing via Sheryan Portal International doctors can now obtain the necessary permits through the DHA’s digital 'Sheryan' portal. Under the current guidelines, private healthcare facilities in Dubai are authorized to sponsor visiting professionals by applying for short-term or annual visiting licenses. The application process requires comprehensive documentation, including primary source verification of all educational and professional credentials via the DataFlow system. To qualify for the part-time permit, practitioners must submit a valid medical license from their country of origin and a Certificate of Good Standing (CGS) issued within the last six months by their respective medical regulatory body.
