Digital Dubai’s integrated domestic worker portal on the DubaiNow app receives top honors for streamlining residency and health procedures.
The Dubai Digital Authority (DDA) received top honors at the Digital Government Awards on Friday, 17 July, for its integrated domestic worker service portal. The platform, hosted on the DubaiNow application, was recognized for centralizing residency, health, and legal processing for household staff into a single paperless interface. Streamlined Residency Procedures The award-winning service allows Dubai residents to manage the entire lifecycle of domestic worker employment. Users can currently complete visa applications, medical fitness test bookings, and Emirates ID registrations within minutes. According to DDA data, the digital transition has reduced the time required for these administrative tasks by over 80% compared to traditional in-person government center visits. By integrating data from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the system eliminates the need for physical document submissions. The platform covers 19 different categories of domestic workers, including drivers, nannies, and housemaids, ensuring all legal requirements are met through a unified digital gateway.
