Dubai Customs Deploys 1,800 Officers to Manage Eid and Hajj Travel Surge

Dubai Customs deploys 1,800 inspectors and 67 scanners across DXB and DWC to manage Eid Al Adha and Hajj travel peak.

Dubai Customs has mobilized approximately 1,800 customs inspectors and deployed 67 scanning devices across Dubai’s airports to manage the surge of travelers during the Eid Al Adha holiday and the return of Hajj pilgrims. The department has implemented 24/7 shifts to ensure seamless flow through Passenger Terminals 1, 2, and 3, as well as Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Staffing and Technology Deployment To handle the expected peak in passenger traffic, Dubai Customs has distributed its workforce based on terminal volume. Terminal 3, the largest hub, is staffed by 940 inspectors operating 37 inspection devices, including 22 for large luggage and 15 for hand baggage. Terminal 1 follows with 532 officers and 10 scanners, while Terminal 2 is managed by 206 officers and 12 scanners. Additionally, 66 officers are stationed at DWC, and 45 officers are dedicated to private aviation terminals. The department is encouraging travelers to utilize the "iDeclare" smart application, which allows for the pre-declaration of commercial goods, personal effects, and cash.
