The Dubai Court of First Instance has ordered a local general trading company to pay Dh1.43 million to an international poultry supplier after failing to settle invoices for a massive shipment of frozen chicken. The ruling follows a legal dispute over the non-payment for 144 tonnes of poultry delivered to Dubai. Contractual Breach Over Poultry Imports Court documents reveal that the two parties entered into a commercial agreement for the supply of frozen chicken. Under the terms of the contract, the international supplier shipped 144 tonnes of products, which were received by the Dubai-based firm. Despite taking delivery of the goods, the importing company failed to transfer the agreed-upon funds within the stipulated timeframe. The claimant provided the court with comprehensive evidence, including the purchase contract, bills of lading, and official correspondence demanding payment. The defendant failed to provide legal justification for the withholding of funds or evidence of a bank transfer covering the total debt.
