Dubai CommerCity launches Dh1.8 billion expansion to boost digital trade

The Dh1.8 billion Phase 2 expansion will add 91,000 square metres of space to the digital commerce free zone by late 2028.

Dubai CommerCity has launched a Dh1.8 billion Phase 2 expansion to add 91,000 square metres of infrastructure, targeting the growing regional digital commerce sector. The project, announced on Sunday, 4 October, will be delivered across two stages, with the first scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027 and the second by the fourth quarter of 2028. Expanded districts and vertical logistics The expansion spans the free zone’s three core districts: the Business, Logistics, and Social clusters. According to details released by the Dubai Media Office, the project will significantly increase available office and warehouse capacity. A central feature of the Logistics Cluster expansion is \'The Hive\', a 5,600-square-metre facility employing a vertical design to maximise space for digital trade operations. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), stated that the investment is designed to meet the requirements of the new economy and align with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. Dubai CommerCity, a joint venture between DIEZ and Wasl Properties, serves as the first dedicated free zone for digital commerce in the Middle East.
