Digital tracking to identify elite young swimmers across eight Sharjah hubs

Sharjah Youth, an affiliate of Rubu' Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, launched the first edition of its "Professional Swimming" programme on Thursday, 27 August. The initiative targets male participants aged 13 to 18 to establish a formal pathway for competitive aquatic sports in the emirate. Training levels and locations The programme operates across eight Sharjah Youth centres, including Wasit, Al Dhaid, Mleiha, Al Madam, Al Thameed, Kalba, Khorfakkan, and Dibba Al Hisn. The curriculum is divided into five training levels, beginning with basic water safety and fundamentals before advancing to the technical mastery of freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke, and backstroke. A unified digital platform has been implemented to track technical progress. Supervisors use this system to record individual swimming times and training results, allowing for data-driven identification of high-potential talent across all locations.
