The UAE Horse Racing Authority hosted 41 horses at Jebel Ali Racecourse as preparations intensify for the 2026-2027 season.

The UAE Horse Racing Authority (ERA) staged its second trial of the 2026-2027 season at Jebel Ali Racecourse on Thursday, 8 October, featuring 41 horses across seven races. The event serves as a critical fitness assessment for both Purebred Arabians and Thoroughbreds ahead of the competitive racing calendar. Trial breakdown and distances Official data from the ERA confirmed that 37 Purebred Arabians and four Thoroughbreds participated in the morning session. Of the Arabian horses, 28 were making their debut appearances, while nine had previous racing experience. All four Thoroughbreds entered were experienced runners. The trials were conducted over two specific sprint distances, with two races held over 1,000 metres and five races over 800 metres. The trial follows the season opener as trainers ramp up preparations for the UAE's primary racing fixtures. The ERA reported that these sessions are designed to verify the physical readiness of new stock and returning champions under competitive conditions at the Dubai venue.
