Bulgarian Regatta victory validates Abu Dhabi's overseas training strategy

Simion Hristov, representing Team Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club (ADMSC) Academy, secured first place in the ILCA 4 category at the International Sarafovo Cup Regatta on Monday, 17 August. The competition, held on the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria, featured 62 sailors from four countries. Hristov navigated the ILCA 4 fleet through challenging maritime conditions characterized by high waves, strong currents, and heavy winds. The victory follows Hristov’s recent participation in a specialized training camp and competitive circuit in Hungary, which served as his primary preparation for the Sarafovo event. Strategic International Training The win is a result of the ADMSC Academy’s technical programme designed to increase international exposure for UAE-based sailors. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Manager of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club Academy, stated that the performance confirms the effectiveness of these overseas training camps in building competitive stamina and technical skill sets. Al Suwaidi noted that the academy intends to maintain its schedule of international participations to ensure Team Abu Dhabi sailors remain competitive on the global stage.
