Botim enables direct GCash transfers as Filipino remittances surge 145%

Filipinos in the UAE can now transfer money directly to GCash wallets in the Philippines via the Botim app, following a strategic partnership between the two digital finance platforms announced on Monday, 28 September. Remittance volumes surge by 145% The integration targets a growing demographic of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) using digital channels. According to data released by Botim, the value of remittances sent to the Philippines through its platform increased 145% year-on-year during the first eight months of 2026. The number of transacting users on the app rose by 115% during the same period. Botim currently reports 548,000 verified Filipino users in the UAE, representing more than 60% of the local Filipino community. The company also confirmed that 2.2 million people within the Philippines utilized Botim services over the past 12 months. The new service links these users directly to GCash, which maintains a base of 94 million registered users. Direct wallet access for recipients Recipients in the Philippines can now access funds instantly within the GCash ecosystem. The digital wallet allows for bill payments, daily retail spending, peer-to-peer transfers, and micro-investments without the need for physical cash pickup.
