Al Dahra activates $500 million wheat supply agreement with Egypt

Al Dahra Agriculture Trading (ADAT) and Egypt’s General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) have activated a $500 million wheat supply agreement on Wednesday, 26 August. The five-year deal transitions a framework established in 2023 into an active operational phase to secure essential grain imports for the Egyptian market. The signing ceremony took place at the Cabinet of Ministers Headquarters in El Alamein, Egypt. It was attended by Dr. Sherif Mohamed Farouk, Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and Khadim Abdullah Al Darei, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Al Dahra. The Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX) provides the financing for the programme, which aims to facilitate trade between the two nations through innovative credit solutions. Supply chain and agricultural logistics Under the terms of the agreement, Abu Dhabi-headquartered Al Dahra will supply imported wheat to GASC over the next five years. The arrangement leverages Al Dahra’s existing agricultural infrastructure in Egypt, where it has operated since 2007. The company currently manages large-scale private farming platforms in Toshka and East Oweinat, combining production and supply chain capabilities to meet large-scale demand.
