ADNOC has launched a unified LNG marketing and trading platform, consolidating commercial activity as Abu Dhabi expands its global gas strategy.

ADNOC has launched a unified liquefied natural gas marketing and trading platform, bringing several commercial activities into a single Abu Dhabi-based unit as the UAE expands its position in global gas markets. Reuters reported that the new platform combines LNG marketing activities from ADNOC Gas, XRG and ADNOC Trading. The unit is based in Abu Dhabi Global Market and is targeting combined marketable LNG capacity of 47 million metric tonnes per annum by 2035. The move comes as gas continues to play a central role in global energy security. LNG demand has been shaped by Europe’s supply diversification, Asia’s long-term energy needs and the need for flexible cargoes in a market exposed to geopolitical and shipping disruptions. For Abu Dhabi, the platform gives ADNOC a more centralised commercial structure. Instead of separate marketing activity across different entities, a unified setup can improve customer engagement, cargo optimisation and trading visibility. ADNOC’s broader gas strategy includes domestic supply, industrial feedstock, export growth and long-term LNG partnerships.
