In a decisive move that highlights the United Arab Emirates’ forward-looking strategy for economic independence and industrial expansion, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has formally announced a $6.2 billion (AED 22.6 billion) Final Investment Decision to develop the strategic Umm Shaif Gas Cap. The megaproject, executed in partnership with major global energy entities including TotalEnergies, Eni, and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), marks a historic milestone in the nation's journey toward total gas self-sufficiency and expanded international export capabilities. Scheduled to reach operational status by 2030, the Umm Shaif Gas Cap is expected to produce more than 600 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas alongside associated gas liquids.
