ADNOC and SNF Expand Partnership to Enhance Oil Recovery Across UAE Fields

ADNOC has entered a strategic partnership with French chemical manufacturer SNF to expand Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) operations across its Abu Dhabi oil fields. The collaboration focuses on scaling the use of polyacrylamide-based polymer flooding to optimize reservoir production and improve recovery rates from mature assets. Advanced Chemical Injection Technology The agreement centers on the application of specialized polymers that increase the viscosity of injected water. This process, known as chemical EOR, improves the "sweep efficiency" of a reservoir by pushing trapped oil toward production wells more effectively than standard water injection. By deploying these chemicals at scale, ADNOC aims to maximize the long-term value of its existing offshore and onshore reservoirs. SNF, recognized as the world’s largest producer of polyacrylamides, will provide technical expertise and chemical supplies from its regional base.
