Active Energy Signs GCC Distribution Deal for CoalSwitch Biomass Fuel

Active Energy Group (AEG) has entered a strategic distribution agreement with Player Carbon to supply its proprietary CoalSwitch® biomass fuel across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The partnership grants Player Carbon exclusive rights to market and distribute the carbon-neutral fuel to industrial energy users in the region. Decarbonising Heavy Industry CoalSwitch® is a black pellet biomass product manufactured from waste wood residuals. Unlike traditional white pellets, the fuel possesses physical properties similar to coal, allowing it to be used as a "drop-in" replacement in existing coal-fired power plants and heavy industrial facilities without requiring significant infrastructure modifications. The technology aims to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 99% compared to traditional coal. The agreement focuses on meeting the increasing demand for renewable energy solutions in the GCC, where heavy industries, including aluminum smelting and cement production, are under pressure to lower their carbon footprints.
