Abu Dhabi QCC launches energy conformity standards for EV and solar sectors

The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) launched its latest energy conformity programmes at Middle East Energy 2026 on Tuesday, 1 September, aimed at standardising renewable energy and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure across the UAE. The initiative, presented at the Dubai World Trade Centre, involves more than 1,900 international exhibitors and focuses on verifying the safety and efficiency of energy-intensive technologies. Standardising renewable and EV technology The QCC is showcasing mandatory technical documentation and certification procedures for high-growth sectors, including photovoltaic solar systems and electric-vehicle charging equipment. According to Fahad Gharib Al Shamsi, Acting Secretary-General of QCC, the rapid expansion of digital technologies and smart solutions requires continuous alignment of technical requirements to ensure market safety. The council is also presenting conformity certificates for outdoor lighting fixtures, low-voltage electrical panels, and air-conditioning systems.
