Abu Dhabi Mobility, the integrated regulatory and operational body governing land transport, aviation, and maritime systems under the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), has officially issued a public traffic advisory announcing a temporary three-night closure on a major section of the E22 (Abu Dhabi–Al Ain Road). The scheduled restriction applies to vehicular traffic traveling westbound toward Abu Dhabi city, taking effect during the late-night and early-morning hours across Wednesday, August 19; Thursday, August 20; and Friday, August 21, 2026. According to the official notice published across the authority’s verified digital platforms, the closure is scheduled exclusively between 12:00 AM (midnight) and 6:00 AM on each of the three specified dates. The six-hour overnight timeframe was selected to minimize disruption to commercial logistics, heavy freight transit, and daily passenger commutes between the Oasis City of Al Ain and the UAE capital.
