Abu Dhabi Launches AI Virtual Human Twin Project to Personalize Patient Care

Abu Dhabi's Department of Health launches AI-powered digital replicas of patients to simulate medical treatments and improve diagnostic accuracy.

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has launched the Virtual Human Twin project, an artificial intelligence initiative that creates digital replicas of individual patients to personalize medical treatment. The project allows clinicians to simulate the effects of drugs and surgical procedures on a digital model before treating the actual patient. Predictive Analytics and Data Integration The system utilizes diverse datasets to build each virtual twin, incorporating genomic sequences, clinical history, and real-time physiological data. By applying advanced algorithms to this information, healthcare providers can predict disease progression and identify potential health risks with higher accuracy than traditional diagnostic methods. The initiative is designed to transition Abu Dhabi’s healthcare sector toward a preventive model, focusing on early intervention rather than reactive care. The Virtual Human Twin will be integrated with Malaffi, the region’s centralized health information exchange (HIE). This ensures that the digital models are continuously updated with the latest patient data from across the emirate’s network of hospitals and clinics, providing a dynamic tool for…
