ABU DHABI — In another historic milestone that reinforces the UAE capital’s reputation as an international powerhouse for elite global sports entertainment, Abu Dhabi has officially completed preparations to host the inaugural Euroleague Basketball SuperCup. Set to take place on Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the state-of-the-art Etihad Arena on Yas Island, the marquee tournament will assemble European basketball royalty alongside the region’s newest powerhouse for a two-day festival of world-class athletic competition. The landmark championship is organized in close partnership between Euroleague Basketball—the governing body of Europe’s premier club basketball competition—and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi). The tournament brings together four of the most decorated and competitive clubs in global basketball: reigning continental title contenders Real Madrid Baloncesto of Spain, Greek powerhouses Olympiacos Piraeus, Turkish champions Fenerbahçe Beko, and the UAE’s newly formed international franchise, Dubai Basketball.
